Did God Become Man Part 5: Did God Have a Son

If God did not become a human being, another question naturally follows:

Did God have a son?

01

Some argue that since God is capable of all things, He should also be able to have a son. However, this claim attributes to God a characteristic that belongs only to created beings.

02

Living creatures reproduce by giving birth to offspring similar to themselves. Dogs have puppies, cats have kittens, cows have calves, and humans have children. If God were to have a son in the same sense, that son would also have to be divine, implying the existence of another God.

03

Such a belief conflicts with the concept of the absolute uniqueness of God. Having offspring is a characteristic of creation, not of the Creator.

Creation by Divine Command

Everything other than God comes into existence solely through His command.

Creation does not occur because God transforms into His creation or because a part of Him becomes the universe.

God remains the Creator, while everything else remains His creation.

Although the human mind cannot fully comprehend creation from nothing, this is precisely what distinguishes God's creative power from that of His creatures.

Human beings can only reshape existing materials.

God alone creates from nothing.

This unique ability is one of His exclusive attributes.

The Message of the Prophets

According to the author, this understanding formed the core message delivered by all of God's prophets and messengers, including:

Abraham

Moses

Jesus

Muhammad

Peace and blessings be upon them all.

The same message was also conveyed by many other prophets whose names are unknown today.

The author maintains that this message has been preserved most clearly in the Qur'an, which has remained unchanged since its revelation more than fourteen centuries ago.

The Qur'anic Description of God

The Qur'an repeatedly emphasizes God's absolute uniqueness.

Regarding those who compare God to His creation, Allah says:

"...There is nothing similar to Him..."

(Qur'an 42:11)

“

Regarding those who claim that God has a son, Allah says:

"But it is not suitable for Ar-Rahman (the Most Beneficent) that He should beget a child."

(Qur'an 19:92)

Regarding creation, Allah states:

"If He intends a thing, His command is only that He says to it, 'Be,' and it is."

(Qur'an 36:82)

Addressing those who believe in multiple gods, Allah says:

"...There was no other god along with Him, for if there were, each god would have taken away what he created, and some would have sought to overcome others..."

(Qur'an 23:91)

Addressing those who deny the Creator altogether, Allah asks:

"Or were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?"

(Qur'an 52:35)

And regarding Jesus and his mother Mary, the Qur'an affirms their humanity by stating:

"...They both used to eat food..."

(Qur'an 5:75)

The Foundation of Salvation

According to the author, the belief that God never became a human being forms one of the fundamental distinctions between Islam and other religions.

Islam teaches that God is absolutely unique, incomparable, and alone worthy of worship.

The author argues that worshipping any human being, or believing that a human became God, is the gravest error a person can commit because it directs worship away from the Creator.

At the same time, correct belief alone is not sufficient for salvation.

True faith must be accompanied by righteous actions and obedience to God.

The journey begins with knowing who God truly is—recognizing that He has never become a human being, never will become a human being, and remains the one eternal Creator who alone deserves worship.
