Who Created Me and Why
Every human being eventually asks questions that shape the course of life: Who created me? Why do I exist? What is the purpose of my life? These questions are not merely philosophical; they are part of our natural disposition.
When we observe the heavens, the earth, the order of the universe, and the remarkable precision found in every living creature, we realize that such harmony cannot be the result of chance.
Nothing in our daily lives comes into existence without a maker. A house requires a builder, a book requires an author, and every carefully designed system has a designer.
It is therefore only reasonable to conclude that this vast universe, with its perfect laws and astonishing balance, has a Creator who brought it into existence with wisdom and purpose.
Islam teaches that this Creator is Allah, the One and Only God. He alone created the heavens and the earth, provides sustenance for every creature, controls life and death, and governs the universe with perfect knowledge and justice. He has no partner, no equal, no offspring, and nothing resembles Him.
“The final messenger is Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who was sent to all of humanity. Allah revealed to him the Qur'an, the final divine revelation preserved in its original form. Muslims believe the Qur'an is the word of God, containing guidance for every aspect of life.
Its message, language, preservation, and profound teachings distinguish it from any human work.
Belief in Islam includes belief in all the prophets whom Allah sent before Muhammad ﷺ, including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and many others. Muslims honor them all without making distinctions regarding their truthfulness or divine mission. Rejecting any of God's messengers is considered a rejection of the One who sent them.
Islam also teaches great respect for Jesus, peace be upon him. Muslims believe he was one of the greatest prophets, born miraculously without a father by the command of Allah. However, they do not regard him as God or the son of God. Instead, they believe he called people to worship Allah alone, just as all the prophets did.
The word "Islam" means submission to Allah through faith, obedience, and sincere worship. It is the religion taught by all the prophets, culminating in the final message revealed to Muhammad ﷺ. A Muslim believes in Allah, His angels, His revealed books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree.
Entering Islam is simple. A person sincerely declares that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, believing these words with conviction. This declaration marks the beginning of a new life centered on faith, purpose, and a direct relationship with the Creator.
No matter what mistakes a person has made in the past, the door of repentance remains open. Islam teaches that Allah forgives every sin for those who sincerely repent and return to Him. Embracing faith wipes away previous sins and offers the opportunity to begin a new life guided by truth and hope.
The search for the purpose of life ultimately leads to recognizing the Creator, worshipping Him alone, and following the guidance He revealed through His final Messenger. This path gives meaning to life, peace to the heart, and hope for everlasting success in the life to come.
